So I did that and then took it out because it dried to the paper towel and stuck to her. How long before she totally absorbs it? It’s getting smaller.

Ok. She has a friend now. So far the other one is ignoring it. It’s already about half the size it was. Is it pretty normal for the new babies to be pretty sleepy the first few days?

Yes it is very normal for them to sleep a lot for the first 24 hours or so. Hatching is a hard process.

Do you have any NutriDrench? If you don't, I would get some and give the chicks each a drop by mouth every 8 hours until you move them to the brooder and get them on food and water.

I don’t. Am I allowed to open the incubator that often while others haven’t hatched yet?

I do, but I don't do it more than a couple times a day and I make sure the humidity stays high. You can get NutriDrench for poultry at Tractor Supply.

I had to cull one today that had the same problem, but worse. I'm sorry. It's no fun losing a baby, especially one you hatched.
