I'd like to know the height of a full grown true Ameraucana (standard, large fowl; not bantam) hen from the floor to the top of her head? That measurement will provide guidance for us as we try to decide how high up the run's wall we should put the very small mesh overlay to foil any raccoons.

I'd also like to know the height from the floor to the top of that same hen's back. That measurement will provide guidance for us as we decide the position and placement of the food and the water stations.

Thanks!

I'm guessing here... I'm 5'2" and my hens' heads reach me at about knee height, so maybe 18" tall? I'd say their back stand about 12" high. Give or take a few inches. I put their feed and water up on cinder blocks.

I ran 24" hardwire cloth around the base of my chain link fence and it seems to work fine. Doesn't hurt to go higher either.
