X2 on Bubbles12345; cat litter can be fatal to chickens. Use coarse sand instead.

ok i dident know much about deep litter till i reserched... and i think i will go with straw.. i will have to be paying quiet a bit each week tho..

Each week?? How often are you changing our bedding? I do it every 4 months

oh!. how many chickens do you have? i got about 10 and there coop gets wet and cold if i dont change it within a month...

15, used to have 35 with same scedule, I dont chage the bedding at all from november to april! What is your flooring, and what coop type?
