What is the best breed for a brooder chicken.

Silkies and Mille Fleur d'Uccles. They go broody as fast as you can look at them.

my D'Uccles wont go broody i had eggs in there for 3 weeks and they had 18 eggs and i had to throw them out​

We had a Light Brahma that hatched out 32 chicks when I was a kid. She was huge and other hens had laid in her nest. Only one egg didn't hatch... but it developed almost to maturity.

Shoot... my two girls trade off being broody almost non-stop. They each did it 4 times this year! They're almost 3.

I had alot of my birds go broody this past sprign and summer. I had about 3-10 silkies sitting at one. An old english, a modern, a mixed breed, japanese. Alot of my hens went broody.
