All anecdotal replies, as expected, and I'll add my (not so very knowledgable) opinion. My "friendliest" is the Barred Rock, from a day old chick she was the most "forward" and curious of the bunch.
None of my girls were handled extensively when they were very young, mostly because of my "full time job", nevertheless, the more I do handle them, the tamer they get. They are going on 17 - 18 weeks now. The BPR and RIR run to me when I emerge from the house, the Americauna and the EE will approach, cautiously, when they notice the other two getting treats. Next time I get chicks, I will plan to raise them in the house, and spend a lot more time with them. . . just one chicken mothers experience.
