What is the best present you can get your chickens?

They have to be trained when little. When they are old they wont use it

I was thinking of getting some live crickets from a bait store, setting the container in the center of their run and just opening the lid so they could jump out. The chickens should have a ball!

Yah, I hope so. Last year, I caught some grass hoppers in our garden. I too put them in a container. But, my gals only caught only about one of them. They all started jumping out. So, it was a fail. If you are doing crickets. What I would do is put it in their coop over night, because then they will hide and the chickens can search for them in the morning. But, close the chicken door and don't let them out for about 2 more hours then usual. (Tip, if you have a coop like mine where my coop door stays open and have chicken wire above the poop tray. Don't do it doesn't work.) But, if you don't do that, that is what I would do. Here is a pic.
