I have a Genesis Hovabator 1588..it is awesome especially for a total novice...holds the temp exactly and recovers quickly if opened easy to get humidity also and love the size (compact but can hold 40 eggs) is sitting on my kitchen bench. Love the large window on top...so easy...

After a poor hatch in a homemade bator, I searched the forums @BYC and decided to order a genesis with auto turner. They have the best reviews of all I've read. I can't wait for it to get here so I can try again.

I still prefer the Browers Top Hatch.. Cheapest to buy from is Strombergs and they have free shipping.
What type of eggs will you be hatching in your new to be bought bator? The eco brinsea sounds great for chicken eggs.
Me I like to fill my bator with turkey, chicken and banty sized as well as call duck eggs at the same time. i wrap the tub in bubble wrap to hold temps. and last few days I place wet sponges in it as well as keeping the water in basin.
good luck on your decision..

I love my Genesis hovabater 1588 for all the same reasons as the earlier post! Actually holds 42 chicken eggs, has an auto turner and also comes with racks for quail eggs, can't remember how many it holds but lots. You can also put 6 or so more chicken eggs on the edge (you must turn those by hand), then when you candle, if you have some not developing you can replace them with the ones you put on the edge. Can't remember what I paid a year ago but I bought it on E-bay through Strohmbergs. I have had 6 successfull hatches of chickens and two hatches of quail.

well i need something that can hatch almost anything mainly nondomestic ducks a few chickens pheasants quail maybe even doves and parrots so i need something that can hold a ton of eggs because my old little hovabator did so much running lasy year it broke but it was old and i made some mistakes but i now know how to correct them i was thinking about the genesis because i am fimiliar with the hovabator and i looked neat and the brinseas are expensive and eveywhere i looked i really couldnt understand the brinseas though also how much water do you put in an incubator at a time and how often

It depends how much room you need. The Brinsea is all plastic and Hover or LG is styrofoam. I did list pro and con in one of the post so use the search feature.
