What is the breed

To me, it looks like they have different combs. The rooster looks like he has a strawberry or rose comb, though it's kind of hard to tell from this picture, and the mother looks more like she has a cushion comb...but I could be wrong on that. :)

If you're talking about the photo with a hen (dotted or mottled or something like that) next to a rooster, I think they both have rose combs. The hen's looks more like the style of rose comb usually found on Wyandottes, while the rooster's looks more like the style usually found on Hamburgs (neither chicken is either of those breeds, they are just examples of different shapes of rose combs.)

Also, if the hen is the mother of the rooster, it is more likely that they have the same kind of comb as each other, because he gets half of his comb-type genes from her :)

Of course, I could be wrong too, but that's my guess :D
