What is the brooder equvialent to a "lockdown?"

    I'm incubatin' in a hovabator & wonderin' what's the equvialent to a "lockdown" with a broody hen? does she not leave the nest for the last three days?

    Lockdown is only in artificial incubation. Mom knows exactly what to do and when to take a break. My hen got up and pooped/ate/drank until they started to shake inside of the eggs, and then she stayed put until they were all hatched.
