    Hello everybody.
I have a standard Cochin pullet, and she appears to have both blue and lavender coloring. Her whole under side is lavender but her head and upper body have both. Does any body know what this color is called? I have just been calling it blue/lavender! Not splash. I will try to post pics if I can find my camera![IMG]

    Thanks!

lavender is not "just a color" , its a genetic make up. Basically you need a black bird with a double dilution (lavender). So each of the lavenders or "self blue" has a parent that carries at least one lavender gene (dilution).
Most blue chickens have a lighter underside. You can post a pic of your chicken and people can give you a more definitive answer if you want
