What is the cut off date for meaties?

We are so far behind on a ton of projects and this heat has been horrible for wanting to do anything outside. Our cornishx are 10 weeks now (we were planning on doing them at 8ish weeks). We are almost done with building a chicken plucker (hubby started it from scratch and is doing an amazing job), so we should get to them in the next few days. I'm just worried all this will be in vain if the chicken is tougher or something b/c we waited too long

. Is their any other issues with older meaties? They are in good health and getting big lol.
 
14 weeks they tend to get some texture/toughness to them. I wouldn't go past 12 weeks.

from Ohio. So glad you joined. I would be butchering as soon as possible. 10 weeks is the longest I have waited.
