What is the difference between a chicken and a partridge?

I need to know the difference between a chicken and a partridge. I find comparisons of other breed to a partridge, but not to a chicken anywhere. I am looking at the Chantecler. They say it is a partridge and I need to know the difference please.

Are you saying in the breed description it says "partridge chantecler"? If so, the "partridge" part is the name of the color/pattern of the feathering on the chicken.

Oh, so are you saying that the Chantecler is a chicken with partridge coloring? It says in the variety section: partridge. So the Chantecler is a normal chicken. right? Not a partridge? Probably a stupid question.

Correct. Chantecler can be buff, white or partridge.
