It's that really classic chicken noise when a hen is sitting in the nest box and clucking away, "Buk buk buk ba-KAWK! Buk buk buk buk ba-KAWK!..."

My BO just laid her fourth egg. I was listening for the fabled "egg song" but she didn't make any noise at all.

Maybe she was just being considerate of the neighbors given that it's Saturday morning

Yes, I have heard a hen in the run making the announcement for the hen in the nest box. And, I have a roo that also sings the egg song!

yes ... my RIR (who has never laid an egg) was making more noise than my buff orpington when she laid her firstegg today​
