Mine has reached the 105 once. I'm guessing no more than 10 minutes. It has also been at 96 for about half an hour. Do you think the chicks are still alive?

Ps: Anything about silkies I should know? Anything extra? Or do you just have a silkie that you love. Are they good for pets?

Thanks!!!

I think it's supposed to stay between 99-101 degrees Farenheit (sorry, I'm used to measuring in degrees Celsuis, so I may be wrong)? But if it's only been like that for a few minutes, I don't think that should matter too much. Just try to avoid it happening again :)

And silkies are great pets. I bought mine when they were a few months old, so they are very scared of me. But they are very friendly and docile, they don't make too much noise. I'm not sure how the rooster will turn out, because he's a few months younger than the chicks, but hopefully he's not aggressive or anything. He hasn't even started crowing yet.

<<---- Mine are in my picture :)

Thats about 40.5 c, not a good thing to happen but depends on what type of incubator you have.

It is safer for the embryo if it went lower rather then higher, so I always try to keep mine to around 36.8 to 37.5c ( 98.2 to 99.5f ). It is considered healthy for the embryo to have an occasional cool off period which if you think about it, is quite normal when the broody hen comes away from the eggs to eat and drink.

Hope that helps

They are just so cute! I have heard they go broody a LOT! That will be okay though. Thank you all so much for taking the time to answer! If I were to sell them, how much is average for a grown silkie rooster and hen? Does anybody know? PD: In America :D
