i have been waiting for 27 weeks .... semi-patiently

my wife is convinced that the chickens are barren .... so my question is ... what is the longest anyone has had to wait for eggs?

first time i have had chickens in almost 20 years .... and back then i bought them full grown and only kept them until it was bbq time (usually no more than a week or 2) ... was hoping to make it a good experience for the wife and kids ... but like them ... i am starting to have my doubts

Into the 32nd week here with my Silver laced wyandottes. I think the next longest I ever waited was 28/29 weeks with some of my orps.

i've got 2 BO's - 1 RIR - and 1 white silkie (not expecting much for her)

My lavender Orps. will be 30 wks. old this week and I still haven't seen an egg from them. Jody (hinkjc) says hers started around 33 wks., so I'm still holding out!

I've also had to wait until my first batch of Welsummers were like 38 wks. old before I saw an egg from them. I didn't think they would EVER start laying.
