about 70 degrees is ok but their is so many of them and they will huddle all together if they are two cold by the time they get that age you wanna move the heat farther and farther away from them so they are less dependent on it ..... when mine were 6 wks old i moved them outside to their coop and just kinda kept the heat lamp in one corner up and after a couple more wks. i took it away!!! they should be just fine as long as the heat lamp is not to close to them :)

At 6 weeks don't they have all their feathers yet? My are outside once they get all their feathers. I have 109 2 week old chicks that are out in their own coop 24/7 with no additional heat, but their body heat is enough that I keep the fan circulating all day long. We are in the 80*s during the day and the 60*s at night here in SE Michigan with high humidity.
