What is the new Eggbid?

I could have sworn I was asking where to buy hatching eggs, rather than asking for an interrogation as to whether i'm fit to own birds.

Very true Hound. It's non of anybody's business. There's ovabid, Ebay & of course, BYC to name a few. Eggbid is still running & has a different format so possibly someone has taken it in hand.

Hound I sell eggs, but I' m out and have a list. I have silkies, polish, cochins and frizzles. Also just starting with Buff Orphingtons. However, check out ebay. They have a lot of eggs up for bid usually.

Then you can check back with me in a few weeks, if you are interested in my breeds.

Wow thats a bit snappy. I think people were trying to offer you some free advice to save your loss of any more birds before you spend heaps more on new eggs. No one said of course that you need to take that advice. Most people on BYC just like to offer any help they can to people especially as you pointed out you had lost so many birds this year already.

as many have already said e-bay is a great place to buy hatching eggs, the only negative thing is that it has quite a few dishonest people that will send you mutts, and hatchery quality birds, if you check their feedback though you can get an idea as to how honest they are.

In TWO attacks on two separate coops. I didn't sit back and watch them get picked off one at a time.

Thanks to those offering suggestions. It seems that Eggbid always had more unusual breeds, and in general better quality than is found on Ebay. The time of year doesn't help, it just struck me that I won't have many eggs next year if I don't start trying to grow some birds out soon.

People really should think though before they offer obvious advice. I personally find it insulting when I'm given advice that only a very silly person wouldn't think of for themselves. And I'd suppose that anyone who had 70 chickens to lose, and knew what Eggbid was, would very well know to make sure the very same predators can't get new birds before buying hatching eggs.

Any time you've been 'snapped at' for offering 'helpful advice', please think first about exactly what that advice was.
