$9.75 a 50# bag of Hubbard 17% layer from local mill. $19.50 per 100 pounds. Bring your own return bags or bags are 50cents.

Love it.

I'd be out of the egg business if I had to rely on TSC type prices. Just telling the reality of it.

Here in southeastern NC I'm paying $12.50 for a 50# bag of Nutrena layer pellets. I think I heard the price was going to go up again. This is the cheapest around. Feed prices along with everything else has just gotten out of hand if you ask me.

Farmers in Benton, AR
Powell's Layer Pellets= $12.59 50# bag
Famers Co-op Game Bird= $14.95 50#bag.

Never thought of mixing with sweet feed for cattle.

Sure wish there was such a thing as a "local mill" here in Arizona that sold feed.....

I use nutrena, since that's what the feed store closest to me has and the chickens seem to like it more than purina. Layer pellets are $13, scratch$13, all flock $18, and game bird feed is $15 (40lb). My birds get all flock when I have babies, layer when everyone is close to laying. They also get a scratch when cold, and a scoop of the quails gamebird food when molting. I also use the gamebird mixed with all flock for poults and ducklings.

The most recent commercial feed I bought was 25# Purina Start-n-Grow, $7.90 and 50# Layena pellets $15.25, both in September.

October, I paid $80 (shipped) for 50# fish meal, and I don't even want to talk about what I paid for 6 pounds of Nutri-balancer.

This month: 50# wheat, $13.95, 50# Austrian peas, $28.00.

Probably won't have to buy anything else until December or (let's hope) January.
