There is like 1 million threads on here about Ivermectin lol but they all have different egg withdrawal periods on them. So I was wanting to kbow the real Ivermectin withdrawal period is? I sell my eggs so I really need to know how long to toss eggs.

Also, you can put the injectable 1% Ivermectin on topically right? And how many drops should you put on them?

Our vet is dosing our flock with it on the 25th and we can't eat the eggs until the 15th of June. In other words, 21 days, according to our vet. I am in the USA though and I have heard that other countries do not list eggs from hens treated with ivermectin as hazardous for human consumption.

Ivermectin injectable according to some posts should not be used in chickens. There is a lot of conflicting info on that, but in this post below there is some opinion that it can be. I have used Ivermectin 5mg per ml pour-on, and the dosage is 0.1 ml for every 2 pounds of weight, on the back of the neck over the spine. It is to be repeated in 14 days. I would use a withdrawal time of at least 7 and preferably a 15 day egg withdrawal. So all in all that would be a month total. VERY helpful! I just got a new hen today and had to treat her due to some pretty bad leg mites. Thanks for the info!

There isn't one. Its been very poorly studied.

So says US Food Residue Avoidance And Depletion Program. Paper hosted by OSU. Same paper from FARAD

Detection in the eggs of treated hens varies by method of delivery (2018 study, after the OSU paper)

Its my understanding that its not approved for poultry here in the US< and that in Canada and Australia where it is, no periods have been set.

But I've only glanced at the data that popped up in a quick search of the internet, no deep dive.

If it helps (maybe just helps add to the confusion) 🙃 Ivermectin is prescribed for humans for certain parasites. There are many articles online about it, including mentions by the Mayo Clinic, and it is very widely used in humans in some African and third-world countries where parasites that infect humans are more common. Knowing that makes me less concerned about exactly how many days to not eat eggs after a few drops are applied to a chicken.

I have heard the same oral and injectable is not good and topical is the best way. These readings above are not topical.
