Goldens can live for 20+ years, just depends on the individual birds health and environment. No predation, diseases, aggression issues, they can live long lives. I have a few Goldens and Amherst that are 15 years old, the males are still viable and a few hens that are 9 years old and still producing 10 to 15 eggs per season.
Ring necked pheasants in the wild have a horrific life span. 1 year is a good run for a wild bird. There are a few that make it to 3 or 4 years but that is rare.
Even in captivity, ringnecked pheasants don't have a very long life span, usually 10 years is a long life.
