What is the strangest place your hens have laid an egg?

My dad tells me stories of his banties that used to lay eggs in his rubber muck boots and he would step into them and find a nice supprise

Until we got their coop built, my first hen to lay used a canvas chair on the screened porch.
Every day she'd squawk until I opened the porch door, then jump in her chair and get down to business.

A few years ago I had a hen that laid in a bed of bamboo, all summer. Just got used to checking the bamboo every day. Not so odd I understand, but at the end of the summer I had a feral cat leave a kitten in the nest with the eggs. Then cry for me to come over and find her baby. I bottle raised 3 kittens that fall. Still have one. Mom's been trapped and spayed. I no longer find eggs or kittens in the bamboo, but still check frequently.

I used to have a hen that would curl up with my dog and she once layed an egg in her ( the dog's) lap.....lol

I watched one lay on another chickies head once because she just wouldn't give up the nest.

I had a bantam lay an egg at the vet while she was being x-rayed. It shows on the X-ray! Sadly, it was her last egg.
