What is the topmost priorty which a chicken coop should consider?

Guess I'll keep searching now that I can sort of narrow it down, and learn more. I'm curious if they will nest on top of another hens egg. I'm guessing yes now.

Give 20 hens 20 nest boxes and they will use 4.

1. Predator proof I have mine attached to a secure pen.
2. roost/nest boxes
3. ventilation
But remember the chickens don't care what it looks like. I am using an old dog house right now and they are happy.
 
My girls like to lay where another egg is. I keep a plastic easter egg in rotation in my nest boxes to keep the girls using them all. My girls only hang out in the nest box when they are laying an egg. They spent the rest of the day scratch'n in the yard.
