and smoke comes out. What is the trick i took a fan out of an old Lyon roll x and it works fine.

did you just plug in the fans using a regular wall outlet??? if so, thats why they burned, computer fans run on a lower voltage, they need a power sorce that is regulated, in other words, they might need 12 volts DC instead of 120v AC

Try googling "how to wire a computer fan" in the custom search. There are several posts including some w/ videos. I am clueless when it comes to electrical & managed to do it. The best part of the instructions were at the end. After assuring you that the phone charger voltage was too low to cause a fire or electrocute you, it said to plug it in. If it didn't work, reverse the wires! LOL! That I can handle & I actually got it to work. Good luck!

Thanks guys. Now that i got it figured out gotta get back on ebay and get another fan. Good thing it was only 5 dollars shipping include. At least im not out that much. Plus there aint nothing like good ol trial and error:sick

x2

Any old charger or power supply that is 12V will do the trick. From anything, a cell phone charger, a power supply for a modem, whatever. Just be sure it says 12V on it. Less will work, but the fan will spin slower.

I got my fan from here.

I haven't installed it yet, waiting for the incubator to arrive. I'll let you know how it goes.

Also, I've been reading that you should install it so that it's blowing up. I've seen people who have put it on the top of the bator, inside blowing up. Hope that makes sense

So that's how I'm going to do mine.
