I've just never had one trying to be a momma this young. She just started laying in July..... ugh.

Mocha, one of my Mottled Javas, went broody for the first time within a month of her first laying.
Wow! I was just so caught off guard, I thought something was wrong with her at first and then she started making that broody clucking talk. I'm gonna work on her and break it.

I broke Mocha the first time since she was so young. I wanted her to do some more growing.

20 week old. My Easter egger Brownie started to lay at 18 week old, and laid 10 eggs everyday in a row. Then she was broody on the day she turned 20 week old!
Wow I guess it really does happen sooner than I've ever known. Any tips on how you broke her out of it? This one is just way to young, needs to grow still and in fact she was the only chicken I've ever dealt with coccidiosis with. I wouldn't really want to breed her so she's dreamin!
