I have recently gotten rid of my roo. He was way overactive with my hens if you understand what I mean. Well I haven't got to spend a whole lot of time with them but I can tell they are a LOT calmer. SO much happier so I know I made the right decision. Some of them have went back to squating when I get near. They did this before I had the roo so I know about this but I have one hen that because of the roo her back feathers are gone and she got sunburned. I had to fix her saddle since she loosened the buttons and it wouldn't stay on there anymore. So anyway I FINALLY got the saddle on her after awhile and today I realized that she will be standing there and when she starts to walk she will bend down and walk a few than get back up and walk a minute normally and repeat the process. Now, I don't know if this is because of the saddle being reintroduced to her (I know she hates them hence her picking the snaps till they're ruined) or if this is something else since I haven't been able to spend a whole lot of time out there.
I felt her tummy and it was large but when I felt the other hens theirs were pretty large too. This was late evening.
I just want to make sure everything is all good. She also is eating real well. I has feeding them a carrot and she was right at the front hammering away at the thing. She can run and anything else. I could be overreacting. So I don't know. Does anyones else?????
