I have week old buff orpingtons. Yesterday I notice one limping. I looked at its feet and didn't notice anything, but today there is significant swelling and what looks to be then ginning of a knot on the bottom of its foot. It's eating and drinking.. But it's limping and laying around a lot. How do I help this poor chick.

I have made a very small hole to see if it was puss, but all that came out was blood. So I put on some antibiotic cream and bandaged it. I've also separated it from the others.

Make sure it has access to food and water. Also, I can't imagine a warm Epsom salt bath would hurt. Nice and relaxing, get weight off the foot with the floating and a fun blow dry after.

Thanks. I'm going to keep soaking the foot every few hours.

Yeah I read all the info on that but was not sure because a: only a week old/never been outside and b: no puss and no black scab. What else should I be doing to help

That is the same reason I am borderline. Maybe you caught it early? Honestly, I just have hours of lurking on the forums and no real life experience. Might as well do the non-invasive care for bumble foot (Epsom/betadyne bath) and see how it is tomorrow.
