Today, I noticed our 9-month-old sapphire gem's eye looked slightly swollen with very faint bubbles. She has no nasal discharge, is not sneezing or wheezing, is not lethargic, eating/drinking normally, and sounds like her normal self when she talks to u and is still laying eggs. What could this be, and how to go about treating her or the flock? No other girls are showing any signs of anything. TIA.

Edit: we also just experienced a cold snap.

That can be a sign of mycoplasma gallisepticum. Have you added a new bird to the flock recently, or is there anything that might be irritating her eyes and respiratory system? Are there any ammonia fumes or dust in the coop?

No new birds. The coop/henhouse is dusty right now because we have it pretty closed up due to the cold (runner is covered in plastic), but we do have the entire top part of the runner open and ventilation in the henhouse.

How does the other eye look? Is there as much conjunctiva showing in the cornier of the left eye? You could get some Tylosin to have around if she gets any worse. Her vocalizations don’t sound too unusual. Here is where to find Tylosin without a prescription online, and dosage is 1 tsp per gallon of water for 5 days.

This is her left eye. Thank you! Anything I can do to support her/them? Electrolytes or immune boosters? We are expecting some super cold temps coming up again.
