Ok.... so I will need to keep an eye on her as she gets older & this may just be maintenance that she needs periodically? (Thanks for replying)

An overgrown beak is characteristic of chickens raised indoors without access to rocks or the ground to file their beaks down. I personally would remove the small part that is hooked.

Fancy Pants (what we’ve been calling her) has successfully had her first beak trim! It went much easier than I thought- I suppose the fact that we handle them a lot helps. Thanks for the replies, I LOVE the BYC community
