I got this chicken that is supposed to be a bantam. She is quite a bit bigger than the other bantams. Is it possible she is a polish? Thank you for your help!

Yes, it is a polish hen but polish chickens can be sold as bantams or standard but they are some what medium sized if it is a standard size.

How old is your chick? I have a chick that looks exactly like that and someone on another thread suggested that it is probably a Crevecoeur breed chick. The Crevecoeur breed is on the critically endangered list and they are large fowl chickens, that might be why your chick is bigger.

She is 5 weeks old. I wonder how we find out the difference? would an endangered breed be in a mixed bantam lot at TSC?

I haven't heard of someone breeding the Crevecoeur breed in bantams but somebody may. I got my chick that I think is a Crevecoeur at a tractor supply store in a crested mix.
She is quite a bit bigger than the other bantams. I have no idea if she is on track for Polish size or what

I agree with chicken chicken love because the Crevecoeur looks a lot like that chick and the legs would be longer if it were a polish chicken. Maybe as it matures the legs with grow longer and the crest will poof out which makes it a polish chicken.
