What is this Black hen?

I also ordered the Rainbow pack from Meyer. I have 3 pullets that are black, same basic look, but two have white ears & the other has red. I thought they were all Australorps - like what do I know?!!
I will keep an eye of this thread. How do we tell an Australorp from other black, single-comb birds?

I do have an australorp from them too. She has the prettiest eyes of all the chickens. Her body is fluffier and more roundish. Her legs are black but not as dark as this other bird and she has red ear lobes.
Here is her head;

She is 11 weeks here and hasn't changed much just got bigger. she is now 16 weeks.
HEre is the other ones head. She has a smaller head. she is 16 weeks here.

I have one just like it and I don't know what it is! The hatchery I got her from sells black austrolorps and black giants, but I don't know which it is!

Jersey Giants have a more fluffy roundish body than my girl. She has white ear lobes. But bothe Australorps and BJ 's have red earlobe and are both kind of roundish with fluffy looking body. so there you go. I don't know what to tell you on that one. ;/

You got me curious, so I checked the Meyer catalog. She looks just like the Blue Andalusians. Since blue doesn't breed true, they can be black or splash, too. So, I guess that makes her a Black Blue Andalusian.

I thought of that one but I was not sure about the legs. It seems that the legs would still be grayish or silver like the splash I have. but her body type is very much like my splash.

Those EE's are such hams. One flew over on my shoulder the the other day. She is Tara the gray one. If you look on my site you will see so more neat pictures of them. I all my chickens named but I am having problems with three of the EE's right now. They look so much a like and have changed so much in color. they got more color as they have grown.

possible an Austrolorp? sorry, its the first thing i thought of so IDK
