What is this? Cannot find any info. Strange feather or weird extra appendage?

This thing is hard, stiff, and by feeling the base of it, runs up into her foot. The yellow sheath material seems to be in sections/layers. She will be 2 years old in March, Marans breed, so feathered legs. It doesn't seem to affect or impeded her at all, and she is molting now, with normal behavior.
Should I just leave this alone?

Sometimes they get weird or large feathers in their feet. Is it possible this is an option?
