We have one year old Easter Eggers and 4 Americaunas that are 5 months old. One of the Americaunas has started mounting other chickens. She is bigger than everyone else in the yard and if it weren't for her not crowing and not looking like a rooster I would think she is a he. She is bigger and stands taller but should be crowing by now if she is a rooster. Will add photos

Even if he’s not a rooster sometimes some chickens will begin displaying dominant traits and becoming the lead hen and some even crow even if it’s a girl.
This is possible, I had a dominant RIR hen who would mount the others regularly (after which my rooster would follow suit). She only did it to the younger pullets though. Also, I think crowing can happen generally after they have already become older and are losing some of their female hormones.

This guy has sickle feathers, pointed hackles and rust leakage on his wings. I think he's male.

Thanks everyone. I noticed the pointed hackles but was in hopes I was imagining. Our last rooster had to be rehomed to someone with older children than my grandchildren because he fought human who walked into his area. I do hope this one will be more tolerant of people. If he is that would be fine.
