What is this chicken thing? Phesent, Quail or what?!?

So I got this little bird thing from one of my cousins who found it in the road. The mom had run off and it was just sitting there so they took it to avoid it getting hit. They have had it for a while but brought it to me because they cant care for it and I was just wondering what the heck it is. Its still pretty small but seems to be all feathered out. I dont know if you can tell from the pics but it is kind of colored like a chipmunk on its head where there is still down and brown and black on its back. Its feet and beak are bright orange.

I am sure that it is some kind of quail phesent thing. Its having trouble walking for the past few days too I have been told. I just got it an hour ago. It will try and get up but it seems like its legs can support it. When you pick it up though it kicks its legs around so they are working somewhat.

I gave it some chick starter/grower. It says on the back of the bag that it can be fed to phesents and quail. Anything else I should be doing for it?

I can't really see from your picture. To me it looks like a guinea but I would have to see it without the hand and pictures that aren't blurry. Chick starter should be fine or you can feed it some gamebird starter. Make sure you dip its head in water to make sure it gets drinks.

everyone was right it is a guinea! I looked at some pics and there is no doubt in my mind though. I was sure it was somthing else because where they found it there are no farms or places with chickens. Weird.

You'd be amazed at how far guineas range (as I found out one year to my dismay.)
