Funny, Audrey will seek him out to lay next to him, even outside. My girls know he means safety and he's incredibly respectful of them. He'll even give them a wide berth so as to not disturb them when they're foraging and he always sits with his back to them which to a dog is a sign that they mean no harm. They have stolen food from him and he lets them. They are well aware of the fact that no other dog is to be trusted though and will take cover whenever they see any and peak out at them from their choice hiding spots.
