What is this broody mama saying?

I really need to understand why she did this. It was obviously intentional.

I'm sure it was intentional. Most animals do not want poop in their bed. I've had house chickens from time to time (due to minor injury or severe weather or broody) who must stay in a plastic tote or small dog crate. In almost all cases, they wait until I take them out to stretch their legs & then immediately poop on the tile floor. They know it gets cleaned up right away & seem to wait for that time each day to let loose.
