What is this chicken thinking?

it looks like red soldier beetle after reading about them just now I don't think you should keep them around.

not only would I return the bag of feed, I would write a letter, include a copy of that photo, to the manufacturer - it's highly effective and will get you a coupon for a free bag, and likely another pile of coupons for discounts off your next several bags... it's certainly worth trying, it's never failed for me - I've gotten all kinds of coupons for free stuff just for writing to "inform" the company of a problem, not so much complaining, just informing...

fishnet, that last pic you posted is awesome! reminds me of certain members of my flock when they don't want to go in for the night and we play ring around the pine tree, or lilac, or whatever they can get under to avoid me...

besides thinking "in't the bitty bug in the feed bag just a protein bonus for me???" what might she be thinking?

Thank you very much. I have never found bugs in feed before. After I had brought it home it was a little scary the thought of some kind of bug falling out of the back of my truck in the yard. Some kind of bug I can't get rid of.
