Here is an old photo of a very broody hen.

I HATE EVERYTHING! Except my eggs and my chicks ... and mealworms, mealworms would be OK for lunch about now mom.

I met Bertie and his hens on vacation a few years ago.

Look Gertrude, there is Bertie again, lurking around in the background, what's up with him? Oh, Clarice, remember he's been a little shy ever since he heard them talking about somebody crowing at five in the morning and having a nice chicken barbeque.

I hope you don't mind if I suggest some names. I love naming chickens!
Winter, summer, tundra, Elsa, snowflake, marshmallow, pearl, isabell.....

The family took a vote and named her Marshmallow. We already have a Snowball and a Snow White. So Marshmallow is a nice change! She is so fluffy and sweet. And yes, there will be lots of pics. I take pics once a month and file it along with current weights and egg production. I track feed consumption for the flock and each bird gets a monthly pedicure with beak trim to make sure it's nice and neat. I have soft dirt so it doesn't wear their claws down nor their beaks.

You go to bed every thing looks fine Then you wake up and the whole place has been rearranged . Now where did they move my coop too.
can't find anything around here . You would of thought someone would of discussed this with me first.
