What is this Colustrum thing I keep hearing?? Goats

replacer is fine
roll.png
get one with 25 - 28% protein, 25% fat, or at the very least over 20% for both of them.

I raise hundreds of babies of all species on replacer and no problems

The coloatrum is for the first 72 hours and if your going to bottle feed try to use goat milk and if you cannot use cow milk with 3 tablespoons of corn syrup DO NOT USE milk replacer it is not good for them!!

You know what?

Bottom line is you can raise kids on

replacer (make sure its full milk no soy, and at the very least 20:20 protein:fat)
full goat milk
full cow milk

I have done all three and find replacer is the most cost effective and gives me the best results

My friend uses full goat milk and has good results, costs her more than replacer but she has a bit more money than I do

Another friend uses full cow milk and gets as good results as I do, but gets the milk cheaper than I can get it because they get the throw out milk from their neighbouring dairy

Bottom line is, use what you can get, they will be fine
