What is this creature?

I am starting to wonder about the chrysallis idea. Hadn't even thought about that before.

Without a doubt! Just when you think you've seen every creepy crawly out there...something new pops into your world!

The shape is really similar to the chrysalis of a butterfly called 'cabbage white' but this is far shorter and fatter. I know that some types of butterfly chrysalides stick to surfaces, but I have never dared to unstick one, so I couldn't tell you if that's what they look like underneath!!

This was in Kentucky, right? Where was it found (on type of plant, under rock, etc?) Any idea about how big it is? Was it mobile/moving?

Yes.Kentucky. It looks like she may have found it in there old barn.
