What Is this Lavender Sussex ?

It was only used as a guide and more for interest purposes. But on this occasion, the Sussex chicks and orpington chicks have been 100% accurate according to the wing sexing done at 2 day olds.
Well, there's always a 50-50 chance! :gig

Here's an update guys - now 13 / 14 weeks old and I'm still stumped 🤣

Looks like a pullet And just begging to get it’s comb coloring, if it has a pointy tail then it might be a cockerel
rounded tail will be a pullet

certainly a unique chicken, some partridge or penciling in the feathers, slate legs, dark beak, hmmmm. ro mw, almost looks like something like an asil crossed with a lavender orp, but I don't think jungle type chickens carrying the barring gene.
Could be a low quality lavender cuckoo....something. 🤔

That doesn't show up until they're around 12 weeks and older. The feathers you're referring to are the saddle feathers, not the tail specifically.
