What is this neck motion?

Hello Friends,

I’ve just noticed this 8 week old doing an odd neck movement. These are my first chicks, so I’m not sure what the deal is.

I am no expert on stuff with the neck or crop but it looks to have to be something to do with the crop?

That could be adjusting the crop, which might be common if she has something stuck in her crop that she is trying to get to move. Sometimes that movement can occur over and over with some neurological symptoms. Check her crop to feel if it is full and large. Again in early morning feel of the crop to see if it has emptied. Is she drinking a lot of water?

Yes she/he drinks a good amount of water. I’ll check the crop.
