What is this on my cockerels cheek?

So, I have just noticed this weird abcess/growth like thing on my frizzle cockerels check (technically its under his cheek). I only noticed it a couple of hours ago, and its a bit worrying. I dont exactly know what it is or how to go with treating it, but what I do know that one of my hens have recently formed a tumour/growth like thing on her back as well. I searched the BYC Forums for similar things, but I thought it would be best to post this for more opinions or advice.

Here's the cockerels cheek, I will provide photos of the hen's tumour thing tomorrow morning.

(yes, he is wet because he found his way into a horse water trough and nearly drowned)

Any advice or input will be appreciated.

That cheek part is his ear I think and it looks infected or bruised give him some time if he isnt doing well give him some electrolytes

can you look in his mouth and see if there is anything stuck?
it could be a number of things
