what is this on my eggs?

I have a hen who stopped laying for the entire summer and has just recently started to lay again. The problem is that there is something wierd about the shells, they have these spots on them that look like grease spatter spots...or maybe mildew spots. Do any of you know what these spots are? Can we eat the eggs? They seem normal inside. Thanks

I'd like to see a picture too, but it's probably just a random egg shell anomaly. . . repeated, i guess.

I've seen all sorts of weird little marks on my eggs, but the formation of the shell rarely affects the actual egg product inside.

i get some like that all the time it is fine it is just calcium deposits. i have a brown egg layer that lays with white spots all over it.
