I was so glad to have seen my roo's puncture - tho didn't notice it till the next morning.(he hopped the fence and the neighbor's dog got a bite) It was icky looking and weepy and could have been on its way to infection. I squirted that salt water rinse right into the hole and massaged around it till it was squeaky clean. I was squeamish at first and you can tell I am not too experienced with animal husbandry but was real proud of myself for doing the right thing. (1 teaspoon to 16 ounces of slightly still warm boiled water is the mix I used)
