Mom a black sex link and dad a BO. Any guesses at 18 days old? I had not seen this pom pom tail before...but then again pretty new to all of this. Thanks, Leslie (accidentally erased original photo in trying to edit. added this which is repeat of below. think I have photos down now....sorry)

Well, if you're asking for gender a better pick of the chicks head would be GREAT

Other than a guess, you'll probably have to wait a little longer until baby gets more feathering in. I know... The wait is excruciating!!

The pom pom tail is probably just his/her tail growing out

Some of my babies have some funky tails going on right now too! My example chick is a frizzle EE born mid June, pic was taken yesterday... They go through their "odd" stages, but always wind up "normal"

I don't know the sex, but I wanted to say....

SO Darn Cute!!!!!!!!

Thanks Chris. Not the answer I was hoping for as I only have 3 hens, 1 roo and now this chick. Was hoping for another hen. Wonder what the chances are for keeping 2 roos??

You can have two roosters together, If they grow up together they usually get along good. Now you you need to get some more hens to go with them.

Definitely a roo. I have 5 roos together. (2 will be moved out to seperate pens with their own females soon) No fighting. Sometimes a little bickering but they know who's the "boss" and respect that.

How can you tell he is a roo? Is it bacause of the pom pom tail? So totally new, but having so much fun. Thanks everyone, Leslie
