Being at a shelter, he might just be a bit ragged...
But also why I mentioned Cochin mix...

There is bearded and non-bearded d'Uccles, although the non-bearded is referred to simply as Booted Bantams.

Hard to say with this guy. We'd need a side profile to know if he has the Cochin body type or the d'Uccle body type.

Bantam Cochin are not large birds. I've had some similar size to slightly smaller than a Silkie, though the d'Uccle (non-bearded) would be smaller still.

And yes, he could be a mix.

If you knew the color of the feet it would help...are they bright yellow? If so, likely Cochin...but again side profile of body type.

I got these at the shelter about a couple weeks ago, I will try to go back and get some more.
As for your guesses, i guess he could be a cochin from what I've seen. He seemed a bit too round to be a D'uccle but I'll take some more pictures when I'm free, maybe this weekend.

Ok, so I looked up some pictures, and I'm now nearly positive he's a bantam splash cochin. I'll get more photos but thank you all for your input!!
