What is this tiny black hen?

those are not blue ears

those are white ears. Minorca that isn't an Andaulusian comb we have raised both here. They are very small birds especially when they come from hatcheries..breeder Minorca's tend to be much larger. At 22 weeks she may be squatting but she's not done growing..she will spurt nearly overnight. Many hens even though they are laying are not done growing..for instance our BLRW take 18 months to reach maturity..thankfully not that long to start laying eggs
Minorca's are super layers one of the best we have had here other than our white leghorns..and no she's not a mutt

I hope that she grows! she gets picked on a bit because she is so small, and because she is so light she can fly pretty high.

Blue earlobes turn white later? I have never had white eared chickens before, only red.

We love our Minorca "Lena" she was supposed to be an australorp but then she started looking like a roo a little with the big comb and all so we weren't sure. THEN she layed a white egg. That and the white earlobes were the clues. Yours looks just like our Lena. She loves to fly across the yard when we let them out. Not the running flapping flight. The actual 5' in the air full across the back yard flight.

I was a little worried about her not being one of those big wide chickens and our New England winters. She's doing great. Her large floppy comb has shrunken in adaptation to the cold and she has a prime spot on the roost nestled tween the BR and the SS at night.

My andalusian that I ordered from MPC looked EXACTLY like her as a chick - ended up turning into a gorgeous "oops" roo (didn't order any roosters). He has a little red leakage which, coupled with the fact that he had a brown head as a chick, means that MPC's andalusian stock isn't that great. Does yours have any red? Also, when did she hatch? If she hatched on Aug. 31, then maybe she's the sister of my roo

She hatched 7/12 as a chick she did have a brownish/red head, and today she layed her first egg! a nice sized white eggs

Congratulations!!

The Andalusians seem to be a rounder bird. The Minorca is kinda skinny. Both white earlobes and red faces and white eggs. Lena is a much skinnier less hefty girl than say Esther the Speckled Sussex. Maybe someone else will know how to tell the difference. Bottoms of feet or something.

well she is very skinny and narrow, also very calm and lets herself be caught and held for a long time.
