Thank you for the reply. The tissue was for sure dead. Turned out she had a deep cut on the underside of the toe. Last night we treated the area with peroxide and antibacterial ointment and today, it appears that the dead part fell off. Watching and waiting now.
Thank you for this. I picked up some Vetericyn, so I'll keep peroxide off of it. She's walking okay and besides being broody, she seems okay for the time being. I appreciate the advice and encouragement!Sounds like circulation got cut off to the toe. I wouldn't use hydrogen peroxide, it kills the healthy tissue. Other than that, make sure she's walking okay and she'll probably be fine.
