Or at least I'm calling it a mystery bird.
I will never fully trust the kids who work there.

What's your best guess?

The bin they came from was unmarked. I am a sucker for a good mystery. lol
Thanks. I guess I will hurry up and wait.

I got two from the mystery bin, hopefully they are both hens. Because I can't keep roos in my city.
I have a neighbor down the road who can though, just in case. But that would make me sad, because this one loves me.

I also got 4 Red Star pullets.

leaning towards a red breed...buff orps do not get any color on them besides buff so the black on this one throws buff orp out the door

These were taken just now. I finally got a good day to get the raptor netting up onto the run so I feel more comfortable letting them play and running in here to upload these. lol

(S)he is my favorite. We named it Benedict. Like Eggs Benedict.
(Or, as my man would say Benedict Comberbatch...lol)

The one just in the background in this pic is the other mystery chicken.

Here's Bennie's backside and the other mystery chicken for a size comparison.
Bennie is much bigger.

Still no idea on the breed. Bennie is much more red than the other mystery bird. The other ones I was told are red sex links. I can agree with that.
But these two..lol I can't match them to any breed on my own. (first time flock)
But, I do believe I have a roo on my hands.. That would make me sad because I can't keep roos in my little city.
Nor would he help produce eggs that are to be shared with amazing neighbors who let this crazy chicken lady put up a coop in the yard without complaining directly to me. lol

Looks for sure to be a rooster to me. You can put him in the stew pot if you can't relocate him. He looks kind of like a sex link to me, so does the gal. The sex link hens I have some are lighter some are darker.
