So i am not crazy to think they lied lol. She was in with the golden sex links we got she was the last one that was black that they had and they said she was the last austrolorp they had lol. She one of my favorites.

I was getting more concerned about her growth if she was an austrolorp because she the same size the golden sex links.

Hatchery sourced Australorps don't get nearly as big as show quality Australorps. Hatchery stock averages about 5 pounds.

Ok that makes since her and the golden girls are bigger the my leg horns and taller then my delewares both are older (the leghorns are the oldest followed by the delewares) considering that she probably not an austrolorp or if she is she just small. I was starting to get worried same with my husband because after adding chick start again (long story increased protien rir&bar rocks werent growing) the bar rocks started growing but she remained the same so was worried. But now i am under the assumption thats just her size. Honey and her gang recently started checking out nesting boxes and i was freaking thinking she wasnt big enough yet to be acting that way. Our leghorns have been laying for over a month and the delewares just started and honey and her gang werent due to start till the end of october i guess they going to be early birds lol.

Black sexlinks can be a bit early to mature than 'pure' breeds.

Thats good to know, i am attached to that hen lol she would roost on my shoulder when she was younger and on my husbands head. She also plays with my two year old daughter so she a family favorite i glad it means she healthy and not having issues.
